HP 902xl firmware upgrade, is your printer affected?
On August 24, HP announced that HP 902-909 and 952-959 consumables (i.e. HP 90x / 95x Series) would be upgraded on December 1.
Why do HP upgrade the firmware?
HP printer firmware updates are released to fix firmware errors, crashes or problems to improve printer performance. In addition to solving printer problems, the printer industry has designed firmware updates to limit the use of recycled and third-party cartridges.

How to deal with HP's frequent firmware upgrades?
It is highly recommended that you check the HP printer settings and make sure that the automatic update feature on the printer settings is disabled. Also, read carefully all messages that will pop up on your computer or printer screen. If you are prompted for a firmware update, it is strongly recommended that you do not accept it. Note that after a firmware update, the printer will only accept OEM or original ink cartridges, unless your printer will roll back to its default HP printer settings.
How do I know if the printer's firmware has been updated?
Does your HP printer not recognize the blue ink cartridge? If the answer is yes, but you have not made any changes to it, it is likely that the printer has been updated automatically. The printer industry can automatically update the printer's firmware without knowing, especially if it is connected to Wi Fi or through a cable that connects directly to the computer over the Internet.
If you receive an error message, such as "cartridge missing or damaged," "remove and re install the cartridge." Or if your HP refurbished ink cartridge is suddenly unrecognized, you may be one of the people affected by these latest firmware updates.
V4ink HP 902xl was purchased before December 1 and has not been used yet. What should I do?
Before December 1, you can still use the HP 902XL ink cartridges purchased by downgrading, but after December 1, you can only use ink cartridges with new firmware. After HP released the above announcement, v4ink immediately took corresponding measures to closely monitor the firmware update and update the HP 902xl series chips. After December 1, the HP 902xl purchased from v4ink is upgraded. Please feel free to use it. V4ink also promises to accept the return of the unsealed products purchased before December 1 and send the latest version of HP 902xl products again to make up for the loss of users.
